Nisar Ali - Chair

 

Was an active member of the Islamic Society at Univerrsity of North London, having graduated  in BA (Hons) International Business and Marketing.  Has worked for various blue chip organisations including Ryder Plc, Stationery Office, QVC and British Aerospace.  He then worked in his first permanent job as an Assistant Management Accountant at Express Gifts.  Worked there for over 10 years.  Currently, works as a Finance Officer for Lancashire BME Pact.

 

Has worked in the voluntary sector for over 10 years.  Starting two community groups EYE and IQRA.    Has worked as a Link Tutor for two years, teaching Spring Hill Primary School children English, Maths, Science and IT at Ghousia Razvia Masjid.

 

Passionately believe in helping the young people who are from disadvantaged background, socially excluded and hard to reach to better and develop their life skills by taking an active development in their education, career and well being and adding value to the local community.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Raja Shazad Khan - Secretary

 

A solicitor by profession.  And a founder member of EYE and IQRA.

 

EYE was started in Jan 2001, and the group organised various sporting events which included football, cricket, badminton and squash.  Outdoor trips to Snowdon and Ben Nevis were organised for youth.

 

In Summer of 2004 a questionnaire was undertaken.  The respondents wanted a childrens Arabic reading, writing and speaking programme taught in Arabic.  So on 30th October 2006, IQRA was started, with 30 children.  Over the years the programme has gone from strength to strength with nearly 200 students participating.

 

Wajid Hussain - Treasurer

 

Has worked for the NHS as an IT Consultant for over 10 years. Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work on his own initiative and as part of the team.

 

An enthusiastic martial artist.

 

Having seen EYE and IQRA develop over the years, wishes to participate in SAFA to move the community group forward.
